What We Do

Accent provides the full spectrum of plastic surgical services. All these services are part of Plastic Surgery. Many people ask how the name plastic surgery came about. "Plastic" is from the Greek word "plassein" which means to shape or mold. Both reconstructive and cosmetic (or aesthetic) plastic surgery accomplish this.

Reconstructive surgery generally involves treatment of conditions that have caused an abnormal change in body shape or appearance. Examples of such conditions treated in our practice include breast reconstruction for mastectomy or birth defects, difficult and nonhealing wounds, burn scars and other abnormal scars, and various cancers of the skin or soft tissues. Also included in reconstructive surgery are conditions that require body changes for appropriate treatment. The best example of this is breast reduction surgery to treat chronic back and neck pain.

Cosmetic or aesthetic plastic surgery is done to change body shape or appearance, usually when no medical condition is present. We are keenly aware of the relationship between body image and self-esteem, with great appreciation that cosmetic surgery is very effective in affecting this relationship in a very positive way. Examples of such procedures include, facelift, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast augmentation, liposuction and tummy tuck. We are also dedicated to nonsurgical aesthetic care, offering a variety of methods to improve appearance without actual surgery.

Care is provided at our modern, pleasant facility in Gainesville, Florida. All surgical procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art accredited operating room or at an affiliated hospital or surgery center in Gainesville.

Accent Physician Specialist is a multi-specialty medical practice that has four board certified otolaryngologists, a board certified plastic surgeon, a plastic surgeon who completed an accredited residency-training program and a board certified anesthesiologist.

In addition to plastic and cosmetic surgery, Accent Physician Specialists provides expertise in otolaryngology, an Allergy Clinic and an audiology program.
