Spider veins are those small clusters of
red, blue, or purple veins that appear on the thighs, calves,
and ankles. It is estimated that at least half of the adult
female population is bothered by this common cosmetic problem.
A number of factors may contribute to the development of spider
veins in the legs, including heredity, pregnancy, hormonal
shifts, weight gain, and occupations or activities that require
prolonged sitting or standing. If you would like to eliminate
your spider veins and improve your appearance, sclerotherapy
is a very effective, safe and relatively painless method. Sclerotherapy is
a procedure in which the veins are injected with a sclerosing
solution causing them to collapse and fade from view. Another
method used to decrease spider veins is laser treatments, in
which an intense beam of light is passed over the leg veins. Another method used to decrease spider veins in the face is the Pulsed Light Photo Rejuvenation process. The pulsed light from the hand piece is absorbed by the pigment in the blood vessels, which typically fade within two weeks.
A
personal consultation at the Aesthetic Clinic at Accent is
the first step for anyone considering spider vein treatment. |
